It is fascinating how we humans find patterns in the world about us. I have a little stone heart that my other half gave me. Īnd legend has it that if you stand still and listen hard you’re still able to hear the pounding beat of the giant’s unhappy heart. Jack became a local hero and from then on was known as Jack the Giant Killer.Īll that was left of Cormoran was his stone heart. He promptly fell into it and disappeared. Blinded by sunlight the giant didn’t see the pit that Jack had dug. When Cormoran awoke from his sleep he saw Jack on his island and charged at him. He crept over to the island and dug a large giant-catching pit. A local boy called Jack took up the challenge. Local villagers got really fed up and offered a reward in return for someone slaying the giant. But unfortunately he made nuisance of himself by waded ashore to the mainland every night and snatching livestock from local farms for his supper. This stone heart suffers the undignified fate of being trampled under the soles of innumerable walking boots on a daily basis. I had a different destination, the Giant’s Heart. Weaving in and out of the flock of visitors puffing up to the castle. When my feet touched the rocky island shore I quickly began to wind my way up the old Pilgrims Path. Such an eye-popping green and lashings of it everywhere! On this day it was the colour of the seaweed that stuck me.

Position the design where you want to place it on the glass, then press it to the glass. Burnish the vinyl so that it’s completely stuck to the tape. Peel away the tape’s backer paper and place the tape, sticky-side down, over this part of the design. To add the words to your glass, cut a piece of transfer tape that’s just a bit larger than the design. Use the adhesive tape to adhere it to the back of the shadow box to keep it in place.Ĭlean the glass front of your shadow box. Insert the black cardstock with your crayon heart into the shadow box. Use a hot glue gun to adhere each crayon in place. Use the utility knife to cut crayons as needed to make your shape. Use a pencil to lightly trace the heart shape onto the middle of a sheet of black cardstock.Īrrange crayons on the heart. When you’re done, only the design itself should be left on the backer paper. Repeat Step 4 for each remaining mat layer.įor the vinyl words, use your weeder tool to peel away the vinyl from inside and around the words. The vinyl words will go on the glass in the front of your shadow box. TIP: Cut the heart shape from copy (or scrap) paper to use as a template for your crayons. Once the machine has finished cutting, gently remove from your mat. Select the material for your mat and follow the prompts to cut out your design. Place your material onto your cutting mat and load it into your Cricut® machine. Now, click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner and then click ‘Continue’ in the lower right corner of your screen.
